What is going on in professional sports? First we have to deal with Barry Bonds about to break the all-time home run record while on steroids. Next we have to deal with Michael Vick and the dog-fighting allegations. Then we have to deal with doping in professional cycling, especially now that people are being pulled from the Tour de France daily including the race leader. Finally we have to deal with Tim Donaghy who possibly fixed games in the NBA to pay off gambling debts. What has happened to the high moral standards that society expects out of these people. Most professional cyclists today are doping. Barry Bonds used steroids and refuses to admit it, a referee changed the outcome of many games including playoff games, and Vick allowed dog-fighting to happen on his property. I know that it’s suppose to be “innocent until proven guilty” and while Vick, Donaghy, and Bonds have not been proven guilty (yet), they should not have let their situations come to this point. It’s about taking responsibility for your actions and doing the honorable thing, not only for yourself but for your family, friends, and company you work for. Please do the right thing.
Yes, I have Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. No, I am not going to spoil it for you. Read it yourself. It’s a good thing to pick up a book and read. I’ll just say this. J.K. Rowling left me holding on to my seat until the end. Almost every question and all of the important ones have been answered. I just wonder what ever happened to Ludo Bagman. The last time I checked, he was on the run from the goblins. In the book is everything Dumbledore failed to tell us, which side Snape is really on and why, Ron’s true fear (hint: it’s not spiders although they still scare him), who lived and who died and the final battle between Harry and Voldemort because that’s the way it has to end. Do not read this unless you have read the first six books.
This just came across the news wires. The new host for The Price is Right is none other than…..Drew Carey. He will definitely bring his own touch to the show which is a good thing as long as he doesn’t change things too much. It’s a very interesting choice but the more I think about it, the more I think he has what it takes to get the job done. The question is how long he will host the show. I don’t expect him to do 35 years but if he can do 10-20 years, that will say something. We’ll just wait and see.
